Daphne du Maurier: I have long been attracted conceptually to the idea that the algorithmic promotion of material on these platforms should not be protected by 230. Du Maurier: But when you write an algorithm to promote X over Y and the result is something that's really damaging the pro anorexia, the individual video doesn't cause anybody to starve herself to death. She says if you get no pun intended fed a steady diet of proAnorexia videos, that's actually the special sauce of the algorithm.
