The Importance of Investor Owned Utilities in the Energy Transition

Even when they've been offered the opportunity to play a supportive role in the energy transition, many utilities still don't want to do it. The Biden administration gave utilities a golden opportunity through their proposed clean electricity performance program. Many of the biggest investor in utilities balked at that opportunity and some of them outright undermined it. They have all in spite of having highfalutin carbon goals that they tout to investors.
