The Relationship Between Women's Rights and the 18th Amendment
The 18th Amendment comes before the 19th Amendment with women's suffrage. There was a very strong connection between temperance and prohibitionism and the women's rights movements. Frederick Douglass, who was probably the most famous temperance orator of his day, said all great reforms go together.
