Is It a Task Philosophy?
For Breton, philosophy is a task and which is always a failure, but that's its success. You know, like it's like the old thing that, that Socrates saw when he went into the temple of Apollo, written above the door, mortal, know thyself. And I think the wonder of it for Breton is that that doesn't destroy us. It awakens us. It's something that holds, brings us into being and holds us in being in reality.
