The Importance of Generosity in Writing
Ford is an odd case in that he seems to have been completely free of it. He would really sort of go out of his way to help other writers, even moved out of his own house so that Conrad and his wife could have it at one point when they started collaborating. And you know, all that helped younger writers, which was very sort of thankless often,. literally, because a lot of them got very angry with him, because they resented being helped so much.
