I think there's a fundamental tension in social life, that we generally see the best parts of other people. But we're comparing that to what we know about ourselves - which is our inner life. And i believe failure is a way of stripping back pretence and enabling us to drop those masks. We just want to know that our pains and our suffering are shared by somebody else. Lets again this idea that we're all sharing in the same kind of suffering at some level. You know, if you've grown up with instagram as your couse, then you've got that presenting it as something that's immaculate. I mean, it's just adding to the potential potential misery
