The Effect of Price Formation on Auction House Performance
The study looked at the price formation of appropriation artworks. It found that once you make it to the auction, there is a drop in the number of auctions. But what we didn't find was actually a reaction of the sales price after the decision. Why this is the case? Mostly probably because price formation is something that's more stable.
