White families fled cities on mass for these new suburban communities like levettown. The homes sold when they were built for about eight thousand nine thousand dollars. Any working class family, black or white, could have afforded to buy a home like that at that price. Returning war veterans were not even required to make a down payment. But of course, black families weren't allowed in a suburb like levitttown....
