Jesus Not Talking
In not talking, Jesus was living out the prophet Isaiah's vision of the Messiah's coming execution. He was a great example of that line from the Hebrew wisdom literature. A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold and a setting of silver. Love that turn of phrase. So simplicity of speech is a disciplined attempt to talk like Jesus. But secondly, to not talk like Jesus would be an even bigger mistake.
