i think the framing device for these movies should have been, it's bilbo telling the story to rhodo. Originally, before this was my original thought. And then, like, elijah wood showed up t the first five minutes, and i was like, ok, never mind. That does run into the issue that,. technically, bilbo doesn't start writing the hobit until he gets to rivendel, whatever whole thing. Or it could have also been, i'm with you, that i wish there had been this story telling aspect of bilbo an. I really could have leaned into that. This was just fine, though. You would have to be a
