Most of my life, there was a bush in the White House doing something. I'd never done any meaningful research into this group of very powerful, very wealthy people that were always kind of behind the scenes. And then I started reading about things like when FDR was president and they wanted to overthrow him. It opened my eyes to this idea that the bushes were not masters as much as they were servants.
