Climbing - How to Set Long Term Goals

I've noticed that for a long time, my goal with climbing was just to get a lot better than I was. And then as I got closer to 14a, I was like, well, maybe my goal should be 14d 9a. But in having all these conversations on the nugget, I've noticed time and time again, some of the top climbers become obsessed with specific things they're trying to do. It's really helpful to have a lot more specific inspiration,. You know, finding a climb that you really, really want to do is motivating enough to plan a whole trip around it.
