The New Early Primary Calendar Is a Big Change for the Democratic Party
South Carolina will be the first state to vote on February 3rd of next year, followed by New Hampshire and Nevada three days later. Battleground states like Georgia and Michigan also got bumped up in the lineup. And Iowa, where Dems have voted in its caucuses first for the last 50 years, is out of the early window entirely. Supporters of the changes say it has a better job of representing minority voters.
