The us. House voted overwhelmingly to end regular trade relations with russia, a move that would allow the U.S. to sharply hike tariffs on whatever goods are still coming in. The secretary of commerce has been calling for this to be passed since last fall, maybe earlier. And i think that there is a renewed interest in really co operating on dealing with our combative positions. So a, i would rarely call myself an optimist as much as anything these days, but in this place, i actually say there is some hope.
