This painting was painted in the year i was born, which was six years before sputnick. It's five years after the end of world war two. There's no such thing as orbital rockets yet. Humans in orbit are ten years in the future, the first ever. And then to make it even more interesting, and really bringing home for me personally, when i saw this in 19 85, i had flown on that vehicle. This is been built. I'm about to go out and start working on it.
