Is It Possible to Be Rooted in the Wrong Things?

Jesus makes the claim that it was possible to be rooted abide in the wrong things and bad fruit comes out. He is radically rearinting his hearer's understanding of life with god, out of a system and a nation, into a person. All fruit that god wants to bear in our lives will come from intimacy with the person who has been named jesus.
