The Importance of Adoption Trauma
At age 11 Eileen says that's when she realized she could use sex to get what she wanted. She eventually had a baby boy but gave it up for adoption. This particular way of handling the situation was not uncommon in 1970. Women that went through this, later in life reported it caused intense depression, anxiety and guilt.
