What's the Key Idea of Small Talk?
Small talk is a kind of conversational for play that, like most the tim never goes anywhere. You just sort of co ordinate being on the same page as each other. The key idea is that you are reacting back and forth to each other's reactions. And so there's his book by randall collins i mention in the post, called interaction, ritual chains. He says we often want to go through these situations where we synchronize ourselves with others.
