The serious man is something familiar. It it's any version of somebody that denies their transcendence and turns th finto pure facticity for the sake of a cause. Sub manis often referred to as what people call a sheep. The second rung on this latter of types of people, little more free than the sub man, but still deeply enslaved and running from the ambiguity of existence.
