Is That a Standard Pattern?

The web that I grew up on in the 90s was there's a page, you interact with the page, and then you post. And when I came up as a web developer, we had a thing called post redirect get. You do a post, you act on the post and then you redirect to the result of that thing,. That redirect then results in a get. What is that? Is that a standard pattern post redirect get? Certainly not what I would say most pages use today.
