AWS Step Functions - How Did You Get Started?

I was working in a startup and we were just starting using AWS Lambda for some workloads. I spent the whole day basically tuning my Lambda functions to try and to optimise the performance. And so one of the great things about projects like this is they often come along because you want to kind of scratch your own itch. So that's more or less the story. It became a labor of love.
