Are Supernovas Really Happening in Our Galaxy?
We're looking at stuff spewing out sideways from the supernova, ramming into something else and then sending us light from that collision. So it's pretty cool. You can tell that a supernova was there. It's sort of like you missed an explosion, but now you're looking at the burn marks on the ground or something like that. Yeah. People have done scans for these kind of remnants in our galaxies and they found a few. They found this one in Cassiopeia. They found another one that they're pretty sure happened at the end of the 19th century, but there's no records that anybody saw the actual supernova. We're just not seeing them
