Sintoya was found guilty of first degree murder, felony murder, and aggravated robbery. Tennessee has one of the harshest juvenile sentencing among all the states. Sintoya earned her GED in jail; she also enrolled in a college program through Lipscomb University. She lost her first appeal due to cognitive impairment but got second chances by people who really believed in her.
