Even the most apparently boring action film does have an actual storyline. You could also say that these sort of rom-coms have no storyline as well. I think you'll actually find a lot of films within the same genre as have exactly the same storyline. For instance, someone recently studied Pixar's films, the animated films of Pixar. And essentially they have one story that they do over and over again - there's 38 variables within their story. But the actual story behind is exactly the same in all like 14 or 15.
