How to Write Internationalized Applications
Even in this next release they're extending the domain and they do this frequently. And you're thinking why would there need to be a consensus on how you format people's names? I mean surely it's just first name given first name, middle initial last name. We accept that costs other than a few countries. No one says last name it's typically family name. In many countries if you're formatting the family name comes first and the given name comes second. Do you write that differently if the letter is coming from the IRS versus whether it's coming from your mum? All of these things I've come back to that messy intersection between humanity and computing.
