The Theology of the Book of Isaiah

i think we really need to embrace the fact that there are three parts that were written over a long period of time in different times of crisis. The editors, when they brought together what we call first and second and third isaiah, weren't adding to sacred scripture. They were just continuing to tell their story of a people once united, now exiled and looking to god to give them a future. So what will god do? What will he do? Will we, like our northern brothers, be lost forever? Or will god rescue us and bring home? Much of the book of isaiah is attributed to isaiah himself, but much else comes to us from this later community
