Do My Yours Dissent - Part Four
Part four of Sotomayor's dissent is a really good one for people to read. She talks about how modern day policing naturally results in so many people who warrants out for their arrest, right? Based on minor violations based on not paying traffic tickets,. That kind of thing. Also talks about how people of color are surveilled, stopped, arrested, disproportionately compared to white people. We must not pretend that the countless people who are routinely targeted by police are isolated. They are the canaries in the coal mine whose deaths warn us that no one can breathe in this atmosphere. Our justice system will continue to be anything but tell them.
