Tolkien's Silmarillion - The Sun and the Moon

The trees, L'Orealin and Telperion in their dying state sort of spurred out one fruit each. And so the valor take these and lance them into the sky and set them in motion - they become the sun and the moon. This is the hand of Eru? It could be. You know, that's not explicitly said, but that's always a good bed in Tolkien, you know? Right. So we went from lamps to trees to gems after the trees were gone, but then the dead is able to spit out a sun and the Moon. That's where we have a sun and moon at some point in the first stage.
