The Origins of UFOs
A rash of UFO sightings occurred around Manhattan Project locations during the 1940s and 1950s. Some observers who witnessed the lights over New Mexico believed they were witnessing a meteor shower. The head of the University of New Mexico's Institute of Metrics calculated an impact site based on the so-called meteor's trajectory. But when he went to that location, he found nothing. On December 20, the green fireballs appeared again. One theory is that these balls of fire were alien technology. In 1971, Edgar Mitchell publicly claimed that after the Trinity test in New Mexico, Air Force officers attempted more atomic weapons tests which failed due to UFO interference.
