The Whipple's Triad of Hypoglycemia
Dr. Murphy: The patient had a low blood glucose, which can be quite normal in otherwise healthy people. He says the next thing to think about is etiologies; it's always good to ask about illicit ingestions. A UA was unremarkable except for 1 plus ketones,. His serum glucose, improved after the D-10 drip, was discontinued and recurrence of his hypoglycemia followed.
