Tiny devices that require, fortunately, infinitesimal amounts of power. Can be used to sample the environment on a global scale without having to deploy power for each device. Cube sats and nanosats will provide continuous communication for all these little devices in orbit. The beauty of this is it opens up the possibility of defeating the digital divide by making real data available around the world.
