Firaben agrees with everything lagkatoch says, except for the defensive rationality of science. He doesn't agree with lakatoh's defence of science as a rational process. New theories have to be able to explain anomalies and problems that were not solved by previous theories. And then finally, produce new empirical content, make predictions which are then confirmed observationally.
