Xenophon's Anabasis

Xenophon's Anabasis is a fascinating tale of swashbuckling adventures which manages to present an inglorious retreat as a triumph over bumbling Persians. Xenophon relinquished command of the mercenary army to Thibron, who began to make war on the Persians. This marks the end of the Anabasis, and the story of the Spartan war in Persia will pick back up in the Hellenica when we get there in the narrative.
