The Lost Words

In the first book in the Lost Words there's a spell called Bramble. I wrote it before the pandemic, but Karine brilliantly saw that actually in a way it's a pandemic poem. The whole thing is almost born out of the idea that we're losing a consciousness of nature. Without that consciousness it's kind of impossible to think beneficially about that wildlife and that aspect of a planet. If you lose the names for things, they cease to exist. Then you can't care for them.
