Long Yun: A History of the Chinese Tobacco Industry
Long Yun lined up on the side of the Nationalists and didn't openly challenge Jiang's authority, they weren't friends. Long was offered some meaningless position in Chongqing but he decided to leave China at the end of 1948. Lu Han took over as chairman of the Yunnan Provincial Government following the Communist victory in October 1949. He is best known for being the one present to hand over Yunnan Province to Chairman Mao after his magic moment in 1949. And almost 75 years later, Yunnan remains a major producer of quality tobacco leaf.
