Al-Qaida in Iraq - The American Experiment in Iraq

Suleimani had al-Qaeda fighters on his side, he had to figure out exactly how to use them. The way they figure out to do that initially is by taking these al-Qaeda jihadi's and simply unleash them into Iraq. There are some slight parallels here with the way the United States fought the Soviet Union in Afghanistan in the 1980s. Obviously not realizing that those folks would be the antecedents of Al-Qaeda.
