Catherine Parr's Letter to Henry VIII
The letter was written on the 20th of July 1543. Catherine Parr, who was 31 and she had married the 52 year old monarch just days before writing this letter. She explains that it is the quote, greatest joy and comfort that could happen to me in this world, marrying him. In the letter, which she is writing back to her William, her William,. her brother William, she writes, it hath pleased Almighty God of his goodness to incline the king's majesty's heart towards me.
