How Do You Choose Who Your Laureates Are?

How do you choose who your Laureates are? Oh, well, the good news is we don't choose in the sense that the founders are not part of that process. There's a judging panel that we have assembled over the last few years. The laureate receives $100,000 themselves to support their work. But then they select up to three other institutions who have either inspired their work or whose work they find very effective in their fields. And they then turn around and select those institutions as recipients of the remaining million dollars.
