He meets a man who appears to be about 80 years old, meaning he would have been in middle age already when the revolution came. Because they are kept purposefully uneducated, many prols don't seem to even realize that they're being oppressed. Still, because of their sheer numbers, remember there's 85% of society is made up of the prols.
