The History of the Point Shoe

The point shoe has more or less stayed intact since its invention. In ballet you're trying to make the arch of your foot look very pronounced. The shank, which is this leather bit at the back of the shoe, is like pretty stiff and hard. Alice Rob brought over some extremely stiff brand new point shoes.
