How Can a Narcissus Experience a Spiritual Awakening?

All human beings walk around on planet earth unaware. Spiritual awakenings happen over a lifetime. There becomes an awareness that i have an ego, that my mind is run by pain versus pleasure and that i will live a reactive life until i gain some awareness and control over my ego. So what is the benefit of or what can we draw from narcissus?
