The Vindication of the Conspiracy Theorists
The way that I interpret the vindication of the conspiracy theorists in at least in Independence Day and 2012 is the way it works. It takes a different amounts of screen time in each movie, but you have scenes where that are done very well. The fact that behind this this veneer of like scientific contempt for what they say is misinformation conspiracy is actually a deep love of things that are super suspicious.
