The History of Community Land Trusts

The idea is your decommodifying property, or at least housing and lands to get it out of the speculative market. And ideally, you're governing it in some kind of democratic way. The CLT movement itself was started in I think the 60s or 70s. It stemmed from actually Slater King who was Martin Luther King, Jr's cousin. He worked together with Robert Swan on what became the community land trust.
