In the late nineteenth century, princely states were seen as being last vestiges of indigenous rule. They took tentative steps towards political reform in places like sa baroda or gondal. And they really kind of exercised the imagination of early Indian nationalists. So it's for that reason that so many early indian nationalists gravitate towards a few princely states. I mean, when naro goes out to budra, you're right: there are some true rajas on your side.
