The Power of Characterization

Mark Waid: Mark's always made me draw things that I wasn't entirely comfortable drawing, which would push me in directions that I never would. If I were writing my own stories, I would definitely stay away from some of the stuff he's asked me to draw. But like that third issue I was talking about, I had to draw... No, it was in the first issue. I had to drawn a baseball stadium. That was really, really shocked to my system. The beauty of Mark's stories is the strength of the characterization.
