What Is the Higgs Field?
W particles, i say, have a mass 65 times the mass of the proton. Photons are massless. But gaugein varnts for electro magnetism leads to the existence of photons. So how come one gauge bozon is massless, another gauge bone has a great big mass? The thing that accounts for that is this thing called the higgs mechanism and it took a long time for people to understand this.
