The Shapes of Reduplication

The implications of these simple rules can be pretty wide ranging. Every pattern we've talked about so far can also play out in final syllables or internal syllable reduplication. A small number of languages have triplication, which I've only ever heard being used for expressive purposes and not grammatical purposes. It's just sort of repeating for emphasis.
