The Conflict Between Ren and Renata
Rin in particular is sort of poised and interesting place within the class structure as she's attempting to break illicitly into the nobility. She was raised by her mother, kind of in her mother's culture, but as a bit of an outcast because her mother was cast out by her people. But Ren having been recruited into a gang of child thieves by a horrible woman when she was young, got taught how to fake the other side of it to a high degree.
