Free Speech and the Choice of What to Say
The difference between the right to free speech and the choice of what to say is fundamental to liberalism. Free speech means not good speech, but tolerable speech. The most church can do is expel you from membership, but it can't put you in jail for disbelief or for heresy. And then there's the right to property that is today's free enterprise.
