The Role of Microbes in Antibiotic Resistance

In the US a kid has taken an average of 2.8 antibiotic courses in the first year of life. We think because we live a lifestyle with a lot of practices that impact our microbes. One in three kids in the US is born by C-section, which they avoid of the natural bacteria from the mother at birth. So do you think it's possible that by studying this unique group of humans who were separated from the rest of the world at the end of the last ice age, that you almost have a window onto what our bacterial load was like?
